Temuka’s No. 1 Team has won the Aorangi Women’s 9 – Hole Pennant Title. The
fourth and final round of the Aorangi Women’s nine-hole pennant competition
was held at Pleasant Point.
Going into the last round Temuka had a 14 Stableford point lead over its
nearest rival Timaru 2 and an 18 Point lead over Gleniti.
Gleniti scored well with 70 Stablefords and Timaru 2 with 62, but the
Temuka Team, on the day, of Elizabeth Marryatt, Sue Burgess, Tracey Birt and
Lyn
Six ladies played in the Aoraki Champion of Champions at Methven in very windy difficult conditions.
Lyn Henderson won the 9 Hole Champion – best nett with a score of 31.
Betty Tarrant, Lyn Henderson and Jenny Niezen won the Gay Henderson trophy (team of Bronze B Champion, runner-up and 9 Hole champion) for the teams nett aggregate with a score of 185.
